The best wedding locations in The Lake District

A wedding at The Rowley Estates is really something else.

The menu’s all yours. Your celebration’s the only event happening. You know every face. You have free run of the space.

You’re assured of the luxurious standards and attention to detail you’d expect at a five-star hotel but without the anonymity of a corporate function.

We limit ourselves to a small number of weddings across the Estates, so you’re guaranteed individual attention.

We want you to feel as if your wedding day’s being hosted by a loving family member who just happens to have a magnificent home in which to celebrate.

Our weddings expert is available to help with suggestions and recommendations and a Rowley Estates representative will be discreetly present on the day.

Three stately homes within the Rowley Estates are licensed for weddings. Each has a unique character and all have exceptional facilities and immaculate attention to luxurious detail.

Join us for a tour and discover what makes our venues so special.

Blencowe Hall

Your first glimpse of Blencowe, along the winding lane that leads from Greystoke village, is its two fortified towers of rosy sandstone rising over the hedgerows.

As you sweep up the drive the view expands to buttressed walls and the arched entrance to an inner cobbled courtyard, where you’re immediately wrapped within your very own fairy tale setting.

Hause Hall

Here’s the perfect small venue if you long to escape the rat race of wedding fair fuss and simply cherish your day.

Let nature provide the décor with ravishing lakes, streams and hills all around you.

The wilderness setting is unbeatably romantic, whether you arrive at Howtown jetty by Ullswater steamboat, swan in silk all day or throw on hiking boots and lycra to stomp from your garden gate up Hallin Fell for wedding photos, they’ll all be talking about your big day for years to come.

Melmerby Hall

There’s no prettier setting for a classic country wedding than Melmerby.

This rose-gold sandstone 17th century manor house is set in magnificent grounds with a walled garden, archery lawn and a valley of ancient trees leading down to a tributary of the River Eden.
