A Magical place to celebrate my 60th, will be back!

Great, well equipped cottage. Nice and peaceful. A few nice local walks and an easy hop into the Lakes for everything else.

Thank you for a perfect stay. The cottage is beautiful, very comfortable, with everything you could possibly wish for. It is the perfect ‘bolt hole’ to get away from it all! The walk to Lacy’s Caves was fab! Hope to be back soon!

Our visit to Elk Cottage was idyllic; the cottage itself deserved its 5 Star rating as everything was perfect and the attention to detail was superb! The location was ideal for a quiet retreat and the information on the recommended walks etc was extremely helpful.

Staying at the Rowley Estates is always a pleasure. Jenny’s Croft is particularly wonderful as it has such a unique layout downstairs with the dual aspect log burner and is set in such tranquil surroundings in the unspoilt village of Glassonby. Stepping out the front door and catching sight of the stunning view with the rolling countryside to breathe in is just superb. We used the helpful walking guides provided to wonder up to Long Meg and her Daughters Stone Circle via the quaint local Addingham Church where the Rowley name is present. And a drive out over the Kirkstone Pass is always a favourite, this time taking us to Ambleside by way of Pooley Bridge. Incredibly dramatic scenery on such a crisp blue winter’s day. From enquiry through to our stay the process is swift and convenient. Christine and Jilly are so considerate making sure you have everything you need to make your stay perfect. I can’t recommend any of their properties highly enough. Give it a try – you’ll not regret it.

Great location with easy access to the Lake District particularly the stunning Lake Ullswater only 15 minutes away and Lowther Castle which would highly recommend for a family day out! The accommodation was hugely spacious with all bedrooms ensuite and the kids had plenty of space to run around and play hide and seek! It was an ideal place for a large family or 2 families to stay and explore the North lakes. Will look to stay again in the future and would highly recommend.

This is my second visit back to Kirkbride (rented along side The Stag and Melmerby Hall). I rented the property to host a yoga retreat and on behalf of myself and guests I can say we were overwhelmed with the weekend. Luxury Accommodation, Beautiful Location, all round perfect venue and much appreciated help when we needed it from the owner/estate manager. Already booked another weekend here and have several more in the pipeline.

We stayed here for Christmas week and honestly had a perfect family time. The Hall is spacious but cosy with big log fires, comfy beds and seats and every possible kitchen/eating thing you can think of. Christine and Jilly couldn’t have been more helpful before we arrived and also whilst we were there. There are so many ideas of what to do nearby but also lots of games provided when the weather’s bad- including the amazing snooker table! We also hired a hot tub which was great after a long walk but also lovely to sit in when it was snowing. Go and stay there!
