One of my favourite places anywhere. Isolated, yet luxurious and comfortable. Beautifully set up, incredible welcome and support, a truly first class experience. Ideal for get always, family events, parties or for groups needing a base for exploring the surrounding Lake District. I agree with the reviewer stating that Hause Hall Farm and Cruick Barn are ‘a slice of Heaven on Earth’. Whatever the weather I could look at, and walk over, the fells viewed from it forever. Thanks to all at the Rowley Estates team for such finesse and hospitality.

We have just returned from a holiday in Elk Cottage, a wonderful holiday staying in a perfect cottage. Very quiet, equipped with all that you need. The wood burner the perfect spot for the dogs to lie in front after a long walk. Highly recommend the Rowley Estate Cottages, the little extras like a superb welcome pack and use of a range of luxury toiletries make all the difference. Thank you to Christine and the team.

We stayed here for three nights just before Easter. Everything was absolutely perfect- including the weather! The cottage is really quirky and very comfortable and spacious. Wonderful sun trap of a terrace. The welcome hamper was super generous. And lots to do in the area.

Awesome little cottage, very cosy but very spacious with it – plenty of room for the kids (4 and 1.5 yrs) to run and around and spread out. It had everything we needed and lot’s more besides – very well equipped. The kids appreciated the train set too! There’s a lovely log fire and firewood provided, just right after a day exploring the lakes and hills.

One of the best equipped and appointed cottages we’ve stayed in – everything you could possibly want is provided, it’s good quality and spotlessly clean. It’s a great base for exploring the northern lakes and also the eastern side of Cumbria. Stunning scenery all around you and lovely walks right from the door. Christine has provided very detailed information about the area, places to go, things to see and do, and suggestions for when the weather isn’t so good! There really isn’t anything we could find fault with. Absolutely perfect!

We had a fantastic time at Wythburn cottage celebrating a family birthday and exploring the Lake District. The welcome hamper was really lovely and even a birthday card was left for my daughter. Christine had certainly gone the extra mile.
The whole experience from our first enquiry was brilliant. Christine was so helpful in answering any of our queries before we booked and the information we received in advance was helpful in our planning activities and booking restaurants before we arrived.

The cottage itself was even better than we expected and with logs for the wood burner plentiful, cosy evenings were enjoyed.
The dining room table converted into a pool table which we made use of one evening too.
The cottage overall was well equipped and the beds very comfortable. Wi-Fi was v reliable.
We would recommend this place and hope to return again ourselves.

We have had an amazing stay here at Wythburn Cottage. Every amenity has been thought of and the welcome hamper the best we have ever had! Thank you. Max enjoyed the snow, especially building his first snowman with his daddy. We ate some fabulous meals, namely at the Boot and Shoe, The Bridge (on the A66) and Dockray Hall. We can especially recommend the Bridge and its twice baked cheese souffle!! Thank you for a wonderful holiday – we will definitely be back!!

My daughter, grand-daughter and I had a lovely stay at Wythburn Cottage. The welcome hamper was outstanding; the cottage was very well-equipped and spotlessly clean; location was great, and the owners and manager were very helpful. Food at the Boot & Shoe in Greystoke was delicious. Already booked the cottage again for next year.

We would like to thank you very, very much for a wonderful stay at your fantastic Wythburn Cottage this last weekend.  You’ve done an excellent job there and offer superb accommodation.

We stayed there to celebrate our niece’s wedding which took place at the nearby Greystoke Castle and your cottage just ‘put the icing on the cake’  to make the perfect weekend. Other family members also stayed in Riverain so we could easily see each other.   We also thoroughly enjoyed the gardens (including the lovely birds) and beautiful surrounding area.  On Saturday we drove to Pooley bridge and walked to the Ulswater Lake and waterfall – lovely experience.
