Gil Beck Barn is a fantastic property. So well equipped, warm and homely. It had everything we needed and a fantastic enclosed garden for our dog.
A 10 minute walk into the village and the lovely tearoom and pub!
Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to return!

I will start off by saying Christine’s communication and level of detail is the best I’ve experienced in a holiday rental. From sending us information about what’s on in the area, to remembering I am bringing my grandpa to the area (he hadn’t been back for 40+ years) and writing it in a welcome card mentioning this. As well as putting a commode in the accommodation for him to use (we didn’t even ask!). It’s truly outstanding and made our stay smooth and stress free. My grandpa loved reading the books on the area and looking at the maps. The log fire was already set up for us to use. The hamper was just gorgeous. Sustainable and natural products in the bathrooms. These little details made us feel right at home. The kitchen has everything needed, utensils and products. Everything had been thought about. I had a problem with flies in the top room but there was even fly killer spray so it was fine! What a special few days with making memories my grandpa is so grateful for. Thank you

Gill Beck Barn is a beautiful, spacious, immaculately presented holiday home close to the peaceful village of Melmerby in the Eden Valley.
The high quality furnishings, bathrooms, and equipment provide a level of comfort and luxury which is outstanding.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Gill Beck Barn and hope to return to another of the properties available through the Rowley Estates very soon.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay – this is one of the few Airbnbs where the host really has thought of everything you could need! The area was stunning with a small village an easy walk away. The property itself is perfect for 6 people – it’s bigger than it looked in the photos. Christine sent detailed instructions and recommendations, and even went the extra mile to make sure we had enough charcoal to make use of the barbecue over a sunny weekend in the Lakes. We will definitely be staying again!

We stayed at Gill Beck for a friends 60th birthday. Three couples and three dogs. The house was perfect. Spacious, clean with everything you need. The garden was perfect for the dogs. From the initial email from Christine requesting bed configuration to what sheets you would like I knew it was going to be special. If you want peace, tranquillity and special time with friends and family Gill Beck is perfect.

My family and I stayed here in July to celebrate my 60th birthday. The attention to detail is second to none and Christine and her team definitely make you feel that you are the first to be staying in the property. The accommodation is fantastic offering 3 en-suite bedrooms and the kitchen facilities with Aga are very extensive. We have never had such an amazing welcome hamper, despite many UK holidays.

As the weather was so warm we spent a lot of time in the large garden, which our dogs loved too and took advantage of the bbq and complimentary charcoal. We were invited to raspberry pick in the Rowley Estate field near Long Meg and her Daughters which we did and also bought their homemade jam which was delicious.

This was our second stay, the first being in March 2022 when we came with friends and enjoyed cooking with the Aga and snuggling up around the log burner. The barn with all its facilities successfully caters for every season and we know we will definitely be booking to go back again.

Perfect for a friend’s 60th birthday. The house was well equipped with everything you would need. The bedding was superb and everyone commented on the best two nights sleep they had ever had. The toiletries were beautiful which added to our wonderful stay.

Excellent accommodation in a peaceful area but well placed to explore the area for walking and cycling. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Barn
