Hut and surroundings were very nice, and the hut was really clean. We also liked the complimentary eggs, milk, butter, orange juice, and loaf of bread.

If you prioritise your privacy and just want to be away from it all then this is the place for you. There is no phone signal – which I loved! But wifi is available if your not so keen on switching off completely. The check-in was nice and easy and we likely wouldn’t have seen another soul if we didn’t go out and about around the lakes. Christine has really thought of everything from providing a delicious hamper with breakfast bits, fresh juice, tea and coffee to practical essentials like foil, different utensils, coal for the BBQ and wood for the fire pit. Being near a stream, nestled amongst the trees and long grass does mean that flies and knats are about. Christine did provide citronella incense, which I suspect meant it wasn’t as bad as it could have been! We had a truly amazing time here and, unusually for us, would go back again.

We booked a weekend break at the elm retreat in a shepards hut and we was not dissapointed it was beautiful a fully equipt kitchen to a spotless bathroom with toiletries provided it even came with a BBQ and firepit and everything to go with it. The hamper with breakfast items was a lovely touch and Christine was on hand at all times if we needed anything great quality good service we will be returning great value for money.

Great little place to stop and very good instructions to check in and get comfortable. Location was peaceful and quiet. Recommend for a couple getaway.

Me and my partner stayed at Elm retreat 8th – 12th july. we had a lovely few days away. Keswick, Grasmere and other lovely villages not too far away. we will definitely be returning. Thank you Christine.

Well appointed, warm, comfortable and clean. Secluded and peaceful, a perfect retreat suitably situated for visiting the Lake District but out of the way of the hustle and bustle. Looking forward to visiting again.

Had a fabulous solo stay in these fantastic shepherd huts. Lovely welcome pack and the hut was toasty and warm for my arrival. Relaxing surroundings for a peaceful break. Lots of walks /places to visit on the website/ instruction book. The hut had everything i hoped for – comfortable bed , well equipped kitchen , a shower that felt like you were in a hotel not a shepherds hut. Lovely lake district products in the bathroom. Everything was provided from the charcoal to the logs for the fire pit. Had the best stay and cant wait to return again.
