Gill Beck Barn is a beautiful, spacious, immaculately presented holiday home close to the peaceful village of Melmerby in the Eden Valley.
The high quality furnishings, bathrooms, and equipment provide a level of comfort and luxury which is outstanding.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Gill Beck Barn and hope to return to another of the properties available through the Rowley Estates very soon.

Had a lovely time staying here – it was very cozy and the fire kept us very warm in the colder weather. The huts are very well stocked with everything you could need – and are a short 5 minute walk from the village bakery and pub. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful place for a retreat in nature! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the shepherd’s huts to anyone looking for a break in the area.

Really happy that we chose to stay at Hawthorn Retreat. The place is secluded and a great getaway to chill out and relax. The surroundings are beautiful and the sound of the river was so relaxing. The kitchen was well equipped and had every utensil you will need and also has oil, salt, pepper, sugar etc . We were really impressed with the Welcome Hamper that we received upon arrival. It includes homemade bread, butter, homemade jam, tea, coffee, eggs, milk, apple juice and muesli. The bathroom had everything you need you don’t need to bring toilet roll, body wash, hand wash, shampoo and conditioner. The shower is hot too. The whole place was absolutely immaculate and the bed is really comfortable. The Wi-Fi speed is brilliant considering we were in the middle of nowhere. The electrics all worked fine. Outside we were delighted to find a bbq and a fire pit. The coals and the wood were also supplied.free of charge which was a really nice touch. 100% recommend this place.

We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary at Blencowe at the end of August 2024, with our 5 married children and 15 grandchildren, a total of 27! It was absolutely fabulous. Every aspect of it worked wonderfully well, the outside spaces, the dining room, kitchen, bedrooms and numerous common areas for quiet chats and noisier competitive card games. Christine was incredibly helpful, warm and professional in all her dealings, and quick in responses. We woke on the Sunday to find the Aga cold. Within an hour there was an engineer fixing it – yes, on a Sunday morning! Everything is very well set up, with a high level of cleanliness. We also used Lynn Hilditch for catering, Pizza Van on Friday night, and for the formal dinner on Saturday – she was also excellent. Her Tuscan Platter certainly exceeded any we had enjoyed during our very regular trips to Tuscany over the last 30 years, and her Beef Wellington impressed even the experienced family connoisseurs!
We unhesitatingly recommend Blencowe Hall, it is spectacular, and thank everyone for such a happy and memorable weekend. Nigel

A lovely stay in Stag Cottage recently – have stayed before in one of the Rowley Estate cottages that are of a high standard. Plenty of room for the family. Clean and well-kept. Beds comfortable. Welcome hamper excellent. Eden valley a lovely location.

Kirkbride Hall is an absolute recommendation! The house is large, beautifully decorated and the kitchen better equipped than our home! Beds at their finest! And the garden invites you to linger!

Wanted to have a movie night for the kids in the evening and needed an HDMI cable, was provided in no time! Simply great service!

Birch Retreat was a real treat and lived up to all our expectations! The online description was truthful and accurate. The location and views from the decking were stunning. The shepherds huts were clean, comfortable and well equipped. I would highly recommend staying here and want to thank Christine for her excellent communication and delicious homemade raspberry jam!
