Great stay at Oak retreat. We were greeted with a lovely welcome food selection, including fresh bread, homemade jam, amazing coffee, tea, butter and eggs. The place was lovely and quiet and just what we needed for a relaxing yet active break! Thank you Christine for being so helpful with responses and things to do in the area.

Loved staying at Rowan Retreat, didn’t want to leave!

Hut and surroundings were very nice, and the hut was really clean. We also liked the complimentary eggs, milk, butter, orange juice, and loaf of bread.

We thoroughly enjoyed are stay at the shepherds hut ,it was lovely and peaceful with Bread and Milk and butter ready in the fridge .

Have just spent a lovely weekend at Kirkbride Hall for a family get together. The house is beautiful & very well maintained having everything you could possibly need. The welcome basket was amazing, don’t think I have ever had one with so many goodies.
Melmerby village is full of history & the surrounding area is so pretty. Everyone was so friendly. Lots of walks direct from the house. The village bakery cafe just 10 minutes down the road is a must to visit.
Would highly recommend.

Fantastic retreat to cook and read from, and convenient base from which to explore the area and wider Lake District. Beautiful and secluded, but Christine’s instructions were crystal clear. She is a great and responsive host. The detailed local recommendations were also very welcome.

Thank you for a marvellous stay at Hawthorn Retreat, it was perfect, and one of the nicest and most well provisioned places I’ve stayed in a very long time. I hope to return.

I couldn’t recommend this place enough for a romantic get away, the accommodation is cozy and comfy with everything you need, the scenery is stunning and serene. The owner was really helpful. Me and my partner fell in love with the place.

We stayed at the Rowan Retreat for 4 nights and really enjoyed the tranquility of the location! It was very quiet and secluded. The cabin was very well equipped and clean. It was in good driving distance of local hikes and Keswick. We would definitely recommend!
