This enchanting cottage extends a heartfelt welcome. Immaculately clean and adorned with luxurious touches. The crackling fire pit and fire place create a cozy haven where we spent all our evenings , playing games and watching the provided DVD’s. Without a doubt, I wholeheartedly recommend this enchanting retreat for an experience that feels like a warm embrace from start to finish. Lastly, the welcome basket contained many local products which we enjoyed and took home with us to remind us of our lovely stay at Elk Cottage. We hope to be back for longer!

Elk Cottage was very well appointed with every kitchen utensil you could ever need.
The generously filled welcome hamper was lovely, providing everything we needed to start us off and introduced us to producers we hadn’t known previously.
The garden terrace was great for coffee in the sunshine, even if we did need coats in late March. We also heard an owl close by on two evenings which was an unexpected pleasure for us city folk.
The Cottage was furnished and decorated to a very high, comfortable standard. The log- burner was a treat making us extra cozy.

We had an amazing stay for my Grandmas 80th birthday. The location was perfect and the castle was AMAZING. Christine was so responsive with any queries we had. Would love to return!

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights and everything from start finish was just perfect. The welcome package was the sweetest touch. Including fresh homemade jam, bread, organic eggs, apple juice and more. The hut itself was just the cutest little thing and the indoor log fire made it even more cosy. The location was perfect and only a 20 minutes drive away from Keswick and an hour from Windermere. Christine was so lovely, even though we didn’t meet her, she couldn’t have been more helpful. She gave us very clear instructions and was just an email away if we needed anything. I cannot recommend this little gem enough, I will be recommending to all my friends and family. We had a terrific stay at Elm retreat! The location was amazingly peaceful and was in a great location for hiking within a short car ride. Thank you for a lovely weekend away!

We had a wonderful stay at Gill Beck Barn and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in the lakes. Communication was fantastic prior to the stay making everything on arrival smooth and easy . The house was spotless and cosy, and the location was perfect – very quiet and relaxing and great for our dogs. Overall a really lovely weekend away and a fantastic host!

What a lovely time we had! A peaceful weekend in this beautiful home. Dogs really enjoyed the garden and made friends with the sheep. We had an amazing bank holiday weekend here, thank you.

A very welcoming, 1st class stay at Hawthorn Retreat Shepherds Hut. Beautiful accommodation in an amazing setting, above the bank of a stream, away from the usual sounds of humanity. The sound of the water very tranquil and relaxing. Location wise central for all the lakes, a great place to stay to either visit the beautiful lakes and mountains, or to chill and hibernate away.
Christine was a fantastic host, never too far away from a message or email, very responsive, making sure we had everything we needed for our short break. 💯 🫶🏼
