Blencowe Hall is a luxurious and unique property. It is set in a wonderful location and certainly has the wow factor. The toiletries provided and the bed linen was high end and reflected the sumptuous property. Christine, the owner, answers any query almost instantly, and the cost is so reasonable when you consider you are renting a castle that has been modernised so creatively. Not surprising it has won so many awards. If you are looking for a place of this size to rent, in this area, then look no more – nothing could beat this. Don’t let me start in the beautifully kept garden, the views and the generous welcome pack of high end locally sourced produce!

Great location and a beautiful house, restored to a very high standard with good quality accommodation throughout. Kitchen very well stocked, with every utensil you might need. And it was great to have an Aga. Great attention to detail from the hosts, from the toiletries in the bathrooms to the generous collection of umbrellas in the boot room. Would certainly love to make a return visit.

We have just returned from Blencowe where we celebrated my (early!) 60th birthday, the party was made up of 4 generations aged from 1 to 83. We first saw Blencowe 10 years ago and since then have been lucky to stay in several of The Rowley Estates properties but have always wanted to stay at Blencowe. We were not disappointed! For everyone apart from us the venue was a surprise right until the moment we arrived. It was beautifully presented, immaculately clean and was even more stunning than we dared dream. The service from Christine from booking to leaving was personal, you feel that you matter to them and quite honestly I wouldn’t use anyone else for holidays in Cumbria, in fact we return to Elk Cottage later this year and stayed at Todd Hills in October last year. Dinner on Saturday night was provided by the amazing Lynn Hilditch and we cannot recommend her highly enough, everyone loved it. This was the most amazing weekend ever, thank you all so much.

We have had the most amazing 2 nights at Blencowe Hall. The location is amazing and the property is immaculate, with everything we needed easily found. The complimentary Hamper was a lovely touch and the owners were very responsive on all communication. I would highly recommend staying for any special occasion, and we will definitely go back. What a wonderful welcome you receive at Blencowe Hall, and that’s not just the basket of local goodies. Although super large, it has a cosy feeling, like giving you a hug, its a home for living in not an impersonal holiday home. We were 23 from around the globe and every single person, and dogs had an incredible experience, they will talk about it forever and everyone just didn’t want to leave. The bedrooms and bathrooms are splendid, all mod cons but with a real feel for the age of the building. The many reception rooms gave everyone the chance to do their own thing but the kitchen was a favourite place to be plus as the sun did nothing but shine outside eating was a great hit. Wi fi was good for those that needed to keep in touch. At the end of the week we realised we hadn’t put the TV on once. We most definitely

This our second visit to Blencowe Hall and we won’t hesitate to return. It was the ideal place for a 70th birthday celebration with friends who are keen on walking, mountains and a bit of luxury.

Blencowe Hall is a stunning property! The gathering of friends for our annual reunion could not have been in a better place. It is very well equipped and comfortable with a generous welcome basket of luxury items. We had an amazing time. The communication with Christine was excellent and she was very attentive to any queries we had. We would love to stay in any of the Rowley Estate properties in the future.

We had the best family party ever. We were so blessed with the weather and managed to fit Clay Pigeon shoot, walks around the beautiful grounds, Ferry rides and party on Saturday night.

What a place!! We have just spent a memorable few days here celebrating my 60th birthday with friends and it has been truly amazing. The hall is warm, comfortable and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The welcome hamper was large and full of quality local products. There are some stunning bedrooms and many have four posters, large baths and showers en-suite. Rural views from every window – a huge social lounge with 2 fireplaces and squishy sofas you don’t want to leave! Two other smaller snugs and of course the full size snooker table that proved a very enjoyable activity. We had a formal celebration dinner in the dining room with delicious food provided by Lynn Hilditch who we highly recommend as a caterer. Christine and her team were very attentive throughout. We just need another reason to return to this unique venue.

We had an amazing stay. Christine was so lovely and helpful with giving us information on what to do in the area. She also left a wonderful welcome hamper. It was the perfect place to celebrate my mums birthday. Thank you!!!
