This is the second time that we have stayed at Blencowe Hall and we’re still brimming with enthusiasm for this glorious house. Not only is it stunningly beautiful but huge care has been made to ensure that guests are as comfortable as possible. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the adjoining utility area gives plenty of space for dumping coats, wellies and alcohol supplies. Blencowe is attractively decorated and furnished but nothing feels too “precious” as the beds and chairs are sturdy and comfortable and our party really enjoyed our games around the billiard table. There was room for everyone in the main sitting room and we appreciated the fact that there were a couple of other snugs to tuck away in too. Credit too for the number of loos and bathrooms and the fact that despite its size the house feels warm. It’s an amazing place to stay.

Unsure what words to use to describe Blencowe Hall. Amazing, outstanding, marvellous, astounding, astonishing, mind blowing, the list could go on for a long time. But, in a nutshell, this venue is beyond belief, from arriving at the door and being the first to wander round I was in awe of both the interior and exterior of the property. It truly is a 5*, 10/10 property.
All 12 bedrooms are wonderfully furnished, the kitchen is a wonderful place to both cook and socialise and the rest, well, is equally as amazing.
Communication with the host and her team was speedy and I was kept well informed at all times and nothing was too much trouble.
This property should certainly be the one you choose if you are reading this review, you will not be disappointed.

We stayed at Jenny’s Croft in Penrith for 3 nights and had a wonderful time! It was so cosy and the log burner was perfect! Would definitely recommend staying here we did not want to leave!!

We stayed in the Elm Retreat Sheppards hut for a weeks break in October and it was the perfect cozy get away!

The host had layed out a welcome breakfast hamper of all local produce and a thankyou card on the breakfast table which was super cute. There was a binder full of all the information you needed from how to get the folding bed down to using the gas cooker to local walks and information for places to eat, see and explore!

The area the hut is in is very secluded, peaceful and quiet tucked away across a field into the woods next to a river. The host provides a little pull along carrier to help you transport your belongings to the hut.

Inside the hut is everything you would need. All the utensils to cook, cleaning products, towels and bedding, hand wash, shampoo and conditioner (no shower wash), even milk butter and eggs in the fridge. There is a bbq outside as well as a fire pit and the host has wood, coal and fire lighters for you too. I dont think there was anything we needed, the hosts have really thought of everything.

We found the hut on air bnb and the process of payment , directions , access and communication were all smooth and easy. Christine (the host) has thought of everything. I would recommend to a friend. We had a great time. Thanks Christine

Great accommodation, great facilities, great location. Very well equipped and very spacious. Plenty of room to swallow up a big group. Friendly and helpful owners too.

We stayed here for the second time with a group of friends and everything was perfect. The hall was spotless, warm and had everything we needed including a very generous welcome pack. We had a meal delivery from the local bakery one night and ate at The Shepherds Rest on another night. All in all a wonderful place to stay.

We absolutely loved our stay and wedding at Blencowe Hall! The hall had everything we needed and the grounds were the perfect setting for our wedding ceremony. Christine and Joanna were amazing from booking to the big day, always on hand if we needed anything. Our families loved the weekend in the castle and we’ll never forget our stay there.

We also highly recommend Lynn Hilditch Catering if you need a caterer whilst staying at the hall. The food was AMAZING and her team fabulous. Couldn’t do enough to make sure the meal was perfect and left the kitchen spotless!

Had the most wonderful vow Renewal weekend here with our friends and family. Christine was a vital and very much valued point of contact in the run up to and during our stay. We cannot wait to return. Every room was superb, beds so comfortable it made it difficult to get out of them in the morning and a kitchen so well stocked with the complimentary gift basket that we needed to bring in little for the weekend.
